Patient Care Specialist – Primary Care

Position description
The Patient Care Specialist (PCS) provides direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) and accepts delegation from care team members: physicians, advanced practice providers, RN, LPN, MA in meeting the needs of the patient/family. The direct care role includes providing care, collecting and documenting patient care data and communicating information to patients, families, and care team members. In the indirect patient care role, the PCS supports the unit by helping to maintain the environment of care and performing unit-based clerical duties. The PCS demonstrates strong organizational skills and teamwork. A commitment to continuous learning, quality, and excellence are important components of this role. Utilization of multiple computer applications is required. This role will work with patients throughout the life span with multiple conditions.

LPN – Outpatient Clinical Dermatology

Position description
The licensed practical nurse (LPN) provides nursing care to assigned patients under the direct supervision of the registered nurse (RN) or other assigned supervisor and accepts delegation from the RN/assigned supervisor in meeting the needs of the patient/family. The LPN collects data through observation and communicates information to assist the RN and/or provider in patient assessment and care planning. The LPN participates as a member of the health care team and accepts delegation from the RN/assigned supervisor and provider in meeting needs of the patient/family. The LPN delivers care in accordance with the patient care plan, policies and procedures of the organization and principles of relationship-based care. The LPN possesses excellent communication skills; is skillful in mentoring and instructing; and may participate on committees or projects, including quality improvement projects.

Qualifications
Graduate of a school of practical nursing or passed LPN Boards after a defined period in a professional nursing program (e.g., some states allow RN students to take the LPN board exam after completing one to two years in the RN program). Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Hospital Internal Medicine

Position description
This Hospital Internal Medicine role will be primarily based in Mankato and will have limited travel expectations to the regional sites in Fairmont, Waseca, St. James and New Prague. The Regional HIM NP / PA practice may also provide 24/7 coverage as needed.

NPs / PAs will serve as an independent provider, collaborating with an on-site physician – teaming up to care for patients on the medical/surgical floor. NPs / PAs complete admissions, provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescription of pharmacological agents, referrals, patient education and complete discharges. Orientation will take place between the hub site of Mankato and the other hospitals within the region. Additional training will be provided in Rochester and all sites in SW MN Region. Mayo Clinic values the skills and expertise of our NPs / PAs and our goal for you is to be able to practice safely and confidently as an independent provider within our hospitals in Southwest Minnesota.

Qualifications
Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN license (or eligible) and certification (or eligible to be certified) as a FNP, ANP, or ACNP

Or graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice (or eligible)

Medical Transcriptionist – Radiology

Position description
Performs Radiology transcription and/or editing of patient care documentation ensuring completeness and accuracy. Dictations may include patient assessment, workup, diagnostic and surgical procedures, clinical course, diagnosis, etc. Perform direct dictation in musculoskeletal radiology, typing live dictations one-on-one with the radiologists. Depending on the specific assignment, other tasks may include support for special projects and back-up coverage in answering telephones and providing related follow-through. May provide dedicated transcription support for either a focused or a broad range of clinical or surgical specialties. Will be an active member of the physician call center, answering and routing calls from clinicians. Routinely serves as a resource and mentor to others as opportunities arise. Demonstrates initiative, technical proficiency, and effective communication skills. Ability to remain focused on transcription/editing with minimal distractions. A commitment to quality, productivity, and excellence is an important component of this role. Position has opportunity for telework up to 75% after successful training in the direct dictation setting. This training could be a minimum of six months and dependent on radiologist approval. Strong Radiology/Orthopedic/understanding of body systems highly recommended to make this goal.

Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent required. Requires successful completion of a vocational or associates degree program in medical transcription with main focus on transcription, or minimum of two years’ medical transcription experience. Must have computer and transcription equipment proficiency.

Undergraduate Intern – Psychiatry & Psychology

Position description
The primary purpose of the Undergraduate Internship is to provide an intern with relevant field experiences in their chosen field of study. One or more mentors will be assigned to the intern to provide instruction, guidance and to assess performance. The intern is responsible for observing the functions and processes of the assigned work unit. In addition, the intern may be given selected work assignments to reinforce the learning experience, to assess the performance levels and to provide benefit to the work unit. The intern will be responsible for completing all internship-related assignments and reports for both Mayo and the participating educational facility. Patient Care Assistant (PCA) – Medical Surgical

Position description
Medical Surgical at our Osseo location is an 18-bed department serving both acutely ill and transitional care patients. The department provides care to acutely ill community members, as well as patients transferred from Mayo Clinic Rochester and Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire who have complex medical conditions and need time for rehabilitation, education, medication management and assistance with self-care before transitioning home. Position description
Core Responsibilities Include: Donor Recruitment: Telephone recruitment of volunteer blood donors, coordinating multiple appointment schedules based on patient blood product usage and inventory needs. Donor Evaluation and Assessment: Understanding and applying extensive donor criteria which includes medical history, travel locations and lifestyle questions, and regulations of numerous accrediting agencies to ensure patient/donor confidentiality and ensuring a safe blood supply for transfusion. Position description
Maintains medical and clinical equipment through the effective use of the Medical Equipment Management Plan and current asset management software. Consistently demonstrates strong skills and tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of complex biomedical equipment and interconnected systems (VLAN, isolated network and Mayo network). Individuals in this position must be highly customer focused with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Individuals must have an exceptional technical skillset, comprehensive clinical knowledge and be able to work with minimal supervision on a regular basis. Also must be capable of giving in-service education for clinical and technical staff on critical medical devices and systems, and serve as a professional coach/mentor for clinical and HTM staff on an as needed basis. On-call and overtime is often required as well as travel to other Mayo Clinic sites. A Healthcare Engineering Technician 2 will typically have a degree in biomedical electronics with internship experience, or alternative degrees with more than three years of proven successful service of a diverse spectrum of medical equipment.
